SharePlex® Enables Consolidation and Broadcasting

Organizations frequently need to consolidate or broadcast information in order to provide all their locations with the same current data. SharePlex® is designed to get the right information when and where it’s needed.

SharePlex solves these dilemmas by offering the greatest possible level of control over your information. SharePlex offers a high level of granularity in selecting the data and files that need to be transmitted, relieving you of both security issues and bandwidth concerns. For example, if a remote location only needs access to the employee data for that location but without salary information, SharePlex allows the replication of only certain rows and also only certain columns.

Often an organization will have many transaction systems for which consolidated, enterprise reporting is desired. Reporting and/or extracting across different instances of Oracle can be very taxing on the databases. SharePlex will consolidate from many databases -- whether local or in a wide area -- to a single instance. Here, extractions and reporting are not only isolated, but contained within a single instance, which eliminates costly joins outside of a database.

Server consolidations are a specialized form of migrations. Companies today are reducing the number of servers to reduce the costs associated with maintaining so many systems. SharePlex will assist in these consolidation activities by bringing many databases from many machines into a single server.
