Quick Connect for Base Systems is an option of Quest ActiveRoles Quick
Connect (hereafter Quick Connect). The Quick Connect environment comprises
the core module - Quick Connect Sync Engine, and connectors to different
types of connected data systems.
In addition to connectors delivered with Quick Connect Sync Engine, Quick Connect for Base Systems version 1.2 allows you to install connectors to the following categories of data systems:
With Quick Connect for Base Systems, you can synchronize the identity information between those connected data systems and Active Directory. |

After restarting a computer running Quick Connect Service you may encounter the following issue: Quick Connect Service does not start even though its startup type is set to "Automatic." The QC Server event log contains the following error-type events: "Quick Connect service failed to connect to SQL Server", "Critical error on Quick Connect service start occurred." WORKAROUND

LicensingTo use Quick Connect for Base Systems, you need to obtain a license from Quest Software. The license specifies the maximum number of enabled user accounts in all domains managed by ActiveRoles Server. When installing Quick Connect for Base Systems, you will be prompted to install the license key file purchased from Quest Software. Important: You can install Quick Connect for Base Systems only on a computer running Quick Connect Sync Engine. Configuring Connections to External Data SystemsAfter you install Quick Connect for Base Systems, use the ActiveRoles Quick Connect Administration console (hereafter the Quick Connect console) to configure connections to the following categories of the connected data systems:
Important: Before configuring a connection to an Oracle database, on the computer running Quick Connect Sync Engine, install Oracle client software 8.1.7 or higher.
